January – June 2025 Community Recap

We’ve been busy this year!

This year has been off to a great start, check out what we’ve been up to from January to March!

February:

  • We honored Black History Month by sharing stories of African Americans who have greatly influenced development in banking, finance and business.
  • Our President and CEO Robie Suggs was recognized at a chamber dinner as an honoree of Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s 2025 We are Making Black History. The Chamber recognizes minority leaders each year to celebrate and bring awareness to the work that these individuals do in their communities.
  • February 13 – We promoted a local Black History Month Poetry Reading at the Mercantile Library

March:

  • We celebrated Credit Education Month by sharing tips and tricks to educate our community more on credit and how to manage yours.
  • As a woman-led bank, Women’s History Month means a lot to us. We celebrated by sharing social posts about influential women in the banking industry.
  • March 7 – We celebrated Employee Appreciation Day with office treats.

May:

  • May 2 – Our president and CEO Robie K. Suggs was honored as a 2025 YWCA Greater Cincinnati Career Woman of Achievement honoree. We are so proud of everything she has done to achieve this nomination by a company dedicated to eliminate racism and empower women.
  • May 9 – We were grateful for the opportunity to talk to Senator Bernie Moreno about the impact mutual banks and Minority Depository Institutions like ours have in stimulating economic growth and providing more opportunities for our neighbors and businesses to succeed.
  • Our Warsaw Federal team rallied around one of our own customer service representatives, Rodreana Horton, after she lost her home in a fire. Determined to rebuild her life, she applied for Habitat for Humanity’s program in April 2024 and was approved shortly after. From helping raise the walls of her new home to offering encouragement and support through the process, the 700th Habitat for Humanity home was ready for Rodreana to move in and in May, she received her keys! Her story is a testament to the power of community and the impact of local organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati.

June:

  • WesBanco and Western & Southern Financial Group joined us as investors. These partnerships support our mission to provide expanded access to financial resources and promote economic vitality in our local neighborhoods, and we’re excited to welcome them to our new phase of growth.
